So I'm a diehard Resident Evil fan. "Licker" is actually the name of my profile on Grindr.
I'm going to see the new Zach Cregger film tonight, but in the meantime, I've gone down memory lane and rewatched a bunch of the old Resident Evil movies — and yes, that does include Welcome to Raccoon City.
Was it the worst Resident Evil film ever made? Yes, because Milla Jovovich isn't in it.
But you know who is in it? Avan Jogia, that's who!
My fourth husband played Resi hottie Leon Kennedy. What I would give to rummage around in his inventory...
I'm also going to use this as an excuse to remind you about Gregg Araki's super trippy, incredibly queer TV show Now Apocalypse, which starred Jogia as perennial boy-kisser Ulysses Zane.
I fucking love this insane little show and you should too.

— So this was literally me when I realised we're less than a week away from American Horror Story season 13.
Ryan Murphy has described this "greatest hits' season as an Avengers-style crossover where all our faves reprise ALL THEIR BEST ROLES.
You're telling me we're getting Jessica Lange back in all her glory? Murphy you are SICK FOR THIS HOW DARE YOU!!?!?!!?
This is me watching every second tick by until I can be reunited with Mother on September 24th.
— Kings of Drag is so good you guys gays.
I don't care if you're tired of RuPaul's Drag Race. It's time all the incredible drag kings out there get some love too, so go back and watch season one on Revrey before season two kicks off on September 20th.
— 3670 is the quintessential hidden gem. One of my absolute favourite gay films of the past decade, Park Joon-ho's understated Korean drama follows Cheol-jun (Cho Yoo-hyun), a North Korean defector looking for love and a place to belong in Seoul.
I've been raving about this one to anyone who will listen for the better part of a year, and now it's finally available to watch on Dekkoo. What's Dekkoo? I don't know, Google it!
— Sunny Dancer arrives today in US cinemas to help fill the gap left by Heartstopper.
This British tearjerker gives Bella Ramsey a rare star vehicle where they play a 17-year-old leukaemia survivor in remission. Honestly, it could be a lot gayer, but Bella is fantastic in this, and the film really does give Heartstopper vibes, even if Neil Patrick Harris plays a straight guy. I know. I know. Do with that information what you will.
— Crush House brings ten queer creators together to compete for a cash prize. It's from the folks at MENCRUSH and should appeal to men who like to get their heads crushed by the ginormous thighs of other men in bed.

Queer Awakenings
You know, the hotties who "turned" you gay.
Being gay is NOT a choice. How do I know? Because I was always going to be gay after seeing this as a kid.
Ok, maybe not gay as such. Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil definitely did things to me, but she didn't exactly make me straight either, because, duh.
Maybe I'm bi? It would certainly explain my obsession with Alice across all SIX Resident Evil movies she starred in.
Honestly, Milla could shoot me ten times in the face and I would say thank you.
I for one welcome the zombie apocalypse if it means I'd get a chance to meet Alice.
Turn me into a zombie at this point. I don't even care. I just want to hang out with this gorgeous diva for a minute or two. Even ten seconds is enough. I'm not greedy.

Queer hidden gems you need to see
Meeting gays all over the world while I travel, they often bring up gay classics like Brokeback Mountain and Call Me By Your Name. But you know what else they bring up?
Free Fall, a German film from 2013 that otherwise went under the radar when it came to mainstream attention.
The story, directed and co-written by Stephen Lacant, follows police trainee Marc Borgmann (Hanno Koffler) whose life goes off the rails when he falls for fellow policeman Kay Engel (Max Riemelt).
And boy does he fall hard. But the title also refers to the way Marc's life is thrown into chaos because yep, he's DL and even has a baby on the way.
What is it about this film that so many gays love? The affair and the pressures that come with it are handled very sensitively, and the tension that arises from it is as gripping as it is sexy.
But more than anything, this film is hot. Watching Marc and Kay share forbidden swims, running together through the forest... it's all very sexy. Sense8 fans, AKA, anyone who has ever watched Sense8, will also get a kick out of seeing Riemelt in another gay role.
People love Free Fall so much that a crowdfunding campaign has been working on raising funds for a sequel. And said campaign has been going for ten years.
Lead actors Max Riemelt and Hanno Koffler actively support these efforts to make a sequel happen, talking about it as recently as this summer, and you can find out more at the link right here.
