Emmys SNUB special — Plus Céline Sciamma's Water Lilies and a newly-crowned Mother of the Week
I WILL AVENGE YOU LISA KUDROW
Hey gurl! David here.
It's that magical time of the year when slutty Halloween costumes are ordered and the Emmy winners are announced.
Are you even gay if you don't stay up late to watch them live?
Huge congrats to Mother Jean Smart and Mother Rhea Seehorn and Mother Allison Janney, plus Widow's Bay for... well, everything.

But I'm not here to spread joy today. I'm here to vent about all the queens who were ROBBED.
Fun fact: My very first word was actually "robbed", a word I screamed as I tumbled out of the womb, only to discover that Angela Lansbury had been snubbed by the Emmys for playing Jessica Fletcher that year.
Jesus Christ I'm old.

You know what's really old though? Watching Lisa Kudrow lose the Emmy for a third time over the span of 20 goddamned years. It's giving classic Valerie though, let's be honest.
Still, Smart deserved the win, as did Kate O’Flynn for Widow’s Bay. Shout out to the most stacked category of the year where anyone from Dale Dickey and Hannah Einbinder to Janelle James and Michelle Pfeiffer could have also rightly won.

If I had the money, the resources or even just a shred of motivation, I would create an "In Memoriam" style video for all the queens who were snubbed by the Emmys this year.
Carrie Coon in The Gilded Age, Karolina Wydra in Pluribus, Sarah Pidgeon in Love Story... And don't think I've forgotten how Leslie Bibb and Youn Yuh-jung were ROBBED last week for Hacks and Beef.

You really thought you could pull a fast one on us last week, pushing their categories to the other Emmys show that no one cares about.
Commiserate with me and Manila Luzon about all the queens who lost this year, all the queens who were ROBBED. And remember, you can reply to this newsletter directly if you want to scream about the Emmys some more with me below.
