Boy Meets World, The Devil Wears Prada 2, and blonde lesbian Anne Hathaway
That's my favourite kind of Anne Hathaway!
This week, I was randomly reminded of Dan Stevens and his performance in a thriller called The Guest.

What I would give for him to go downton on my abbey. My goodness.

Queer and Now
Everything new in the world of queer TV and film
— The Devil Wears Prada 2 is now out in cinemas and -

Or are we? I got to see it a few days early in Taiwan and honestly, it was just fine? I suspect all the strong initial reactions came from a place of relief because Prada 2 is better than it could have been, sure, but it's hardly like florals in the spring.
If you're ok with that (and understood that reference), gird your loins and go watch the sequel in cinemas today.
— Queer East Festival 2026 kicks off in London today and there's going to be a showing of 3670 at the Barbican on Thursday 7th May at 20:25.
Why should you go see it? You might be surprised to hear that I watch a lot of gay shit, so just know it's a big deal when I say this is easily one of my favourite gay films of the decade.
Park Joon-ho's directorial debut stars Cho Yoo-hyun as a North Korean defector named Cheol-jun who's suddenly free to find love and connection upon moving to Seoul.
Queer cinema is still a rarity in South Korea, which makes this film even more special. Find tickets here.
— My Dearest Senorita is a Spanish drama about a child named Adela who's raised by a conservative family, unaware at first of their intersexuality.
Produced by the Javis from Drag Race España, the film also stars Manu Ríos, the internet's favourite twink turned twunk, so there's something for everyone, whether you're looking for a serious drama or a seriously hot man.
— I attended my first Token Homo screening in London the other week and I had the best time. There's something about gathering in the dark with fellow queers and weirdos to watch cinematic gold, which is why I can't recommend their next screening enough.

On Saturday 2nd May, go watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Rio Cinema for a "phenomenal night" of "pure chaotic queer joy". Drag, queer cabaret, and a free Par-tic-i-pation Party Bag are all included in the price of admission. Grab your tickets here.

— Lesbian streaming service Tello Films is launching a new cajun cooking series named Boudin and Bullshit hosted by a proud "Gayjun" named Brandy Cavitt.
"Gayjun" makes me think about the X-Men's Gambit in that crop top, but what do I know?

Queer Awakenings
You know, the hotties who "turned" you gay.
Being gay is NOT a choice. How do I know? Because I was always going to be gay after seeing this as a kid.

Like thousands of baby homos waiting to emerge in the 90s, I too watched Boy Meets World for one boy in particular. And it sure as hell wasn't Cory.
Rider Strong was such a cutie, my god. That floppy hair really had me questioning why I walked faster than other people and craved iced coffee as a child.

Since then, Rider has talked about how much he hated his hair on the show, to which I say —

Let's not get crazy here.
I'm happy to report that Rider remained hot even after he grew out of that hairdo, as seen here in the sequel series Girl Meets World.

Notice how I refrained from making any sexual jokes about his name. You know what that is?

Check out what Rider Strong is up to now on Instagram here.

Out Takes
Queer hidden gems you need to see
I've got something to share and some of you are not going to like it. But you know what? I need to speak my truth.
Anne Hathaway is a great actress.

There, I said it. Brave, I know. Because when she's not starring in fluff like The Devil Wears Prada 2, Hathaway's actually carved out quite the career for herself.
Case in point, Eileen (2023), a psychological thriller that starts off sapphic before transforming into something strange and even dangerous.
Set in 1960s Massachusetts, the story follows a striking blonde woman as she befriends a much younger brunette against a stifling period backdrop. Yep, it's giving Carol if Carol was set behind the scenes of a juvenile detention facility.
Eileen’s (Thomasin McKenzie) world is as dreary as the grey slush that lines the streets on her way to work. That is, until Eileen (Anne Hathaway) appears.

With her retro blond coif and cigarette poised elegantly in hand, Dr. Rebecca Saint John instantly captivates Eileen.
She’s like that burst of technicolor from The Wizard of Oz, except it’s her big sapphic energy that radiates out of every frame, transforming Eileen’s drab world into something brighter and significantly gayer.
I ended up just as obsessed with Rebecca as Eileen is from the get-go.

There's an air of mystery to Eileen that envelops her like Marlboro smoke, pulling you into the glamor of her seductively dangerous world. This is a woman who’s fully aware of her allure, able to disarm anyone with just a mere smoulder.
Am I gay for Eileen? Absolutely. Is it Hathaway's best role to date? Yes, because here she throws everything she has into this character, using every wattage of star power at her command to craft a queer Hollywood fantasy distilled into human form.
Find out how to watch Eileen below.
