It's called *...And Just Like That*. No, Flanagan's Carrie is a new version of the classic Stephen King book where a psychic girl takes revenge on the popular kids. ![](https://static.klipy.com/ii/4e7bea9f7a3371424e6c16ebc93252fe/79/fb/wWAPg1M7DydCiyo.gif) Did I think we needed another version of *Carrie*? No. Is this a ballsy reimagining that expands this tale while retaining the essence of what makes Carrie so timeless? I would say yes. Still not convinced? May I present to you Joel Oulette, who plays Sue's goodhearted boyfriend Tommy Ross with a jawline that just won't quit. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/28/91/2891aa17-ae73-4ddb-b44a-370856eda4ac/content/images/2026/09/carrie.jpg) Credit: Prime Video โ€” ***Tip Toe*** is finally available to watch in the US on Starz. And watch it you must. In my five star review for [*Empire*](https://www.empireonline.com/tv/reviews/tip-toe/?ref=cruisingcinema.com), I said: "Tip Toe practically stomps in, boldly calling for history to not repeat itself. \[Russell\] T.Davies has done it again, creating another landmark show that captures the queer zeitgeist." It's not an easy watch, but it is a vital one. โ€” I'll use any excuse to rave about **Teenage Sex and Death At Camp Miasma** again. Gillian Anderson banging Hannah Einbinder in a queer horror pastiche from the mind behind *I Saw The TV Glow*? How could I NOT rave about it? ![](https://static.klipy.com/ii/e7539ef2aad336edaa067c28ee130b3c/16/83/Be4UAvvB4QMF.gif) My latest excuse is that Jane Schoenbrun's masterpiece is now available to stream on MUBI, so grab some fried chicken and get on that asap. โ€” In ***Extra Geography***, two British schoolgirls fall for their Geography teacher and decide to make her their summer project. The resulting envy fractures their connection in ways that feel extremely accurate when it comes to the nuances of friendship and how quickly it can fall apart. This Sundance indie is out now in UK cinemas! โ€” ***Abbott Elementary*** returns for a sixth season via Hulu and Disney+ on October 7th. I've included it here because Chris Perfetti's Jacob is a gay teacher, something which would have meant a lot to me when I was a younger teacher who hid his identity at school. I've also included it because the show just fucking rules and it's easy to overlook a sitcom that's still this consistent, six seasons in. A+ all round. ![](https://static.klipy.com/ii/4493325008d34b7bf8cd6813cd5c1619/49/f0/vw7sqIcXnxr0.gif) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/28/91/2891aa17-ae73-4ddb-b44a-370856eda4ac/content/images/2025/11/rainbow-frame-blue-is-even-1-1.png) ****Upgrade to paid.** **The full newsletter straight to your inbox* [Subscribe ](#/portal/account/plans) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/28/91/2891aa17-ae73-4ddb-b44a-370856eda4ac/content/images/2025/11/rainbow-frame-blue-is-even-1-1.png) ## 43 Best LGBTQ+ Movies of 2026 Ranked (so far) *Plus where to watch them* In need of something new and extremely gay to watch? How do I know? Because I was always going to be ~~gay~~ bisexual after seeing this as a kid. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/28/91/2891aa17-ae73-4ddb-b44a-370856eda4ac/content/images/2026/09/mummy7.jpg) Credit: Universal Pictures It's been said before, but it bears repeating: "No one is 'born bi.' You watch *The Mummy* at a formative age and the whole cast turns you bi." Say thank you to Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, two of the most deliriously beautiful people who have ever existed on the face of this earth. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/28/91/2891aa17-ae73-4ddb-b44a-370856eda4ac/content/images/2026/09/mummy10.jpeg) Credit: Universal Pictures Historical records show that the bisexual population actually tripled in 1999, with experts saying it was largely down to the release of this film. And by all accounts, *The Mummy* continues to turn people still to this day. Weisz is always effortless when it comes to Mothering, but nowhere more so than she is in *The Mummy*. Fraser, meanwhile, left me whimpering like a baby. Such is the power of that face card. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/28/91/2891aa17-ae73-4ddb-b44a-370856eda4ac/content/images/2026/09/mummy.jpg2.webp) Credit: Universal Pictures It's often said that hot people can alter your brain chemistry with just a look alone. But these two? Seeing them on screen together fundamentally changed my DNA. Every strand in my every genome is bisexual as fuck now thanks to them. Can't wait for the fourth *Mummy* film to come and replace every cell in my body with more gay shit. If you were left wondering where her next star vehicle came after that, you need to check out ***Fancy Dance***, which actually hit festivals that same year. Gladstone stars as Jax, a hustler who ends up parenting her 13-year-old niece Roki (Isabel Deroy-Olson) following her sister's disappearance. When child services intervene, Jax takes Roki on the road where they connect like never before. Part road movie, part coming-of-age story and even part revenge-thriller, Erica Tremblay's directorial debut is an ambitious one, but it's wonderfully done, perfectly anchored by Gladstone and Deroy-Olson. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/28/91/2891aa17-ae73-4ddb-b44a-370856eda4ac/content/images/2026/09/fancy.jpeg) Credit: Apple Original Films Their chemistry is phenomenal, playing out across two languages, but also in the glances they share, those wordless moments where both characters and the actors alike are in perfect sync. While Gladstone is queer and plays a queer character here too, the focus is more on that central connection than just Jax herself. All aspects of her identity are integrated into this story though, giving us a very rare example of LGBTQ+ representation for Native Americans on screen. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/28/91/2891aa17-ae73-4ddb-b44a-370856eda4ac/content/images/2026/09/fancy2.jpg) Credit: Apple Original Films Another Oscar for Gladstone when?
